I met some catfish in a cave in Belize. The next day, i had a dream that someone had told me I met angels that protect you when you go through the underworld. During the rest of my trip, I traveled through about 2 miles of caves. One spelunking journey was lead by a Mayan guide. He told us 2 Mayan stories where people turn into catfish in order to gain powers to traverse the underworld. In Mayan culture, the catfish are seen as beings that protect one as they enter the underworld.

I often see the art process as a journey through the underworld. The painting is hidden from sight until the end. All I have are intuitive senses and the feeling mind to navigate. The process of painting brings the underworld to light. Looking at paintings help us to clarify the maze of our inner worlds.
